Open Letter to Jason Lezak.

Dear Jason,

I think that you have done a wonderful job this Olympic year! You won a bronze medal last night in the 100m freestyle after helping your teammates win gold (by saving their bacon) in the 4X100m freestyle relay. I jumped from my seat and cheered for you! I wish that I had your discipline to get in the pool every day and work out.

A lot of times, people don't stop to look at all of the athletes who compete in the Olympics. The American press is obsessed with certain individuals and they forget other captivating swimmers like you. You train just as hard--maybe harder. (Plus we're the same age!) Kudos to all of the other U.S. American swimmers, but you, Jason, win the award of getting to be my Olympic boyfriend.

(I know this means nothing to you, but who cares? It's my blog!)

Yay for you!

xoxo

Readers, here's your chance to claim your Olympic boyfriend or girlfriend for the games. You may choose anyone except Jason Lezak and Aaron Piersol (because he's MG!s Olympic boyfriend).

Seriously, everyone, hands off the Peirsol.

I loved how they interviewed Lezak asking him basically whether he won the relay for Michael Phelps. As if Phelps's record is the only reason to do anything. And Lezak said, much more politely, "bish plz."

I choose Adam van Koeverden because he's Canadian and it would probably be wrong of me not to choose a Canadian athlete. That and he's seriously hot.

I choose Michael Phelps. Please see the slideshow attatched to this story (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93556479) in lieu of a more detailed explanation. Pay particular attention to photographs 11, 23, and 24.

I gotta go with Alicia Sacramone. Not for her gag-job the other night either. Its more for the fact that she's the only gymnast I have ever seen with actual boobs. And I'm not even a boob guy. I have to commend her for sticking with gymnastics even though genetics conspired against her athletic pursuits.

I also liked Lezak's swim for obvious reasons. However, I too was always a late surger in my youth. I remember pissing off a lot of other swimmers who thought they had me beat with a lap to go. Good times.

Can I choose a whole relay team? Any women's relay team? Look, they don't even have to have medaled. Just meet me, room 314B, for a few hours. Or five minutes. I don't care.

I also cast a vote for Alicia Sacramone. She's cute and didn't cry when the camera wanted desperately for her to tear up. Fuck off media.

However, much respect goes out to Dara Torres. What a MILF.

My girlhood crush on McLain Ward has faded with time, but he's the only one I can think of at the moment, since Peirsol's spoken for. ;)

Which one is the blonde, Matt Damon-ish swimmer? I want that one.

Actually, I just looked at my swimming boyfriend again, and he looks more like a young Sean Penn. So, whomever that guy is, I call dibs.

Oh crap. It's Peirsol. MG! is going to choke a bitch.

Last time, I promise.

It's not Peirsol, it's Lochte (phew!).

I tried hard, ma, but I have a feeling that my olympic bf doesn't play for the u.s., so he's harder to find.

i like the italian-named rower, but his smile is too much like my brother in law's so that's a "no" bc of the obvious creepy mccreepersonness of that...

Ryan Lochte. No question.
